| Mini Bio: The world of technology went from a hobby to a profession when, in 1985, the company that I worked for invited me to join their IT team (which then expanded the team to two ☺). I worked on a broad spectrum of hardware, which included PCs, mini-computers, datacom, PBX systems, telephones, faxes, the local voicemail system and data terminals. I also worked on dot matrix, laser, inkjet and high speed line printers. I supported DOS, UNIX and all versions of Windows. I administered the network servers at 9 offices. I wrote software in Basic, VB, SQL and Paradox PAL. In 2001 I left regular employment to start my own company, Dr Technical. I was very curious to see what it would be like to work for myself. Also, it gave me the freedom to move to and live in one of the most beautiful areas on earth. After 8 years I'm still working for myself and enjoying it immensely. I take the work that comes my way. It is not quite as expansive as it was when I was employed. But there is still a lot of variety. Listed on the SERVICES page are the items that I work on frequently in this business. Dan Holmes |
